The SPX 7800BT is part of Cobra's new line of high grade radar/laser detection equipment. This unit offers almost TWICE the detection range and warning time of previous models. It's packed with technology for today's modern driver that will keep you free of tickets during your travels. It's discrete in size, yet gives you peace of mind by providing you with advanced warning of ALL radar/laser guns in use today.

Key Features:
The SPX 7800BT comes with the Cobra iRadar App. Use this community driven app to map out speed traps ahead of time! It makes use of over 40,000 user-generated reports per day, and can also warn you of red light cameras and traffic congestion. Imagine taking a long road trip and having travelers an hour or 2 ahead of you mapping your threat areas for you.

It's also very visually appealing, with a compass and MPH readout, along with a scrolling map with pinned radar areas. Although the "iRadar" name implies it's only compatible with iphones, it works perfectly with androids as well. Need to charge your phone while the radar's plugged in? Not a problem, the power supply also has a built-in USB port.

You're notified the instant in-range radar/laser hits thanks to its powerful CPU and low-noise signal amplifiers. Advanced muting with IntelliMute eliminates voice alerts when you don't need them by suppressing them based on your engine's RPM. This feature can be manually adjusted to your preference. The Cobra SPX 7800BT also gives you the ability to adjust which radar bands to be detected. It may pick up some bands that give you a few false alerts here and there, but the iRadar app allows you to tag them false.

As with any radar detector, you'll want to place it high on the windshield to get the maximum effectiveness. Also, keep in mind that with some laser or "instant-on" speed detectors that you may already be tagged if it's going off. But regardless, this is a fantastic piece of technology for the price. Top grade radar detection coupled with mapping out speed traps on a mobile mapping device! Priced just under the $190 mark at the time of this writing, it is well worth every penny.
