Jensen VX6020 Review

Pros & Cons:
GPS units alone went for this price just within the last few years. If your looking for all the latest features then you want to look at more advanced models.

The Jensen VX6020 is an aggressively priced in-dash DVD receiver. You'll get a responsive 6.2" touch screen multicolor display, Blue-tooth, GPS navigation, and many other features that definitely make this unit worth a look. Impress and entertain your family and/or friends with the ability to watch movies on the go, listen to digital media on any number of devices, and easily navigate your way to unknown destinations. You can even track your fuel consumption and trip details with a few clicks.

The VX6020 may come at a steep discount compared to other units out there, but don't think for a minute that it can't stand well among it's peers. One of the nice features included with this are separate source volume presets (dvd/radio/iPod/Blue-tooth). Every time I switch to Blue-tooth I have to kick the volume up, and then it's blaring when I disconnect. So I find this feature very nice as it eliminates this problem. You'll find plenty of FM modes to save your favorite stations and the 10 band EQ lets you optimize the sound quality.

This unit comes with all the basics you'd expect to see in the expensive units, plus one little bonus. The built in GPS. Most of the competition builds this capability in but then charges monthly or a steep one time charge to use it. Not the Jensen VX6020, it comes standard. Use this to navigate with ease without ever picking up your phone. Added features include a fuel consumption log, and quick search (look for nearby gas stations, restaurants, etc). Also included is a hookup for a rear camera if you desire. These can be found relatively cheap and install directly on your license plate holder.

Some other features include a front panel door that opens to reveal all of your input plug-ins. Easily connect your USB cord, SD card, memory stick, etc. A remote is included with this unit so you can allow your guests to navigate movies without distracting you to push buttons. Various shortcut keys are active, which once you get used to, allow you to bypass navigating the menu to find what your looking for. You can also easily connect your mobile device using the built-in Blue-tooth functionality. If your car has steering wheel controls, you can easily hook it up to this unit with the native plugin on the back.

At the time of this writing, you can find the Jensen VX6020 for just under $300. This is more of a bare-bones model compared to more expensive models, but you'll be hard pressed to find anything comparable at this price point. It delivers GPS navigation, digital media playback, DVD/CD, 10 band EQ, remote control, rear view camera hookup, 6.2 inch screen, and plenty of other fun things to play with!
